Couple of my colleagues have appreciated this movie too..
Didn't know about the temper though.
Btw, the Piano thing is slightly reminiscent of Tom Hanks in "Big"...EnGeetham aka "My Song!"https://www.blogger.com/profile/18076550796481397644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19231178.post-28588400469065805662007-09-05T03:34:00.000-07:002007-09-05T03:34:00.000-07:00I too saw this movie when it was off the theatres....I too saw this movie when it was off the theatres.. Good handling of the contrasts (music vs the handicap) in the script... No annoying lecturing and sentimental dialogues..
Though many people who saw the movie, thought Jyothika's character was unnatural in the vehemance shown, I would not say so. I have an uncle who is deaf and dumb. And I have seen his temper flare when we kids used to disturb his neat cupboard. The way anger comes out, when the voice is suppressed has to be seen to be understood.

And all the other bits, about kids staring at the two of them using sign language, was also natural, something my mom and uncle experience whenever they go in the public bus..

There is a scene in the song "kaatrin mozhi" where they dance on the pedestrian crossing to mimic a piano's keys.. Very thoughful, and very original..

A beautiful movie, with a good theme, essayed in a cool manner. But, our average movie goer, would appreciate the rustic (although crass at places) Chennai-28 or a insanely megalomaniacal Shivaji, or the stupidly hip Unnale unnale better than a neatly done Mozhi...

Whatever said and done, Prakashraj is fighting a silent battle for a lone cause, that of good cinema..~SuCh~https://www.blogger.com/profile/18093569072774862770noreply@blogger.com
